House Update – 2/10/2014

Progress happens very quickly once the inside of the house starts getting the needed focus (and is ready for it). In less than 3-days most of the insulation is up and we should be ready for the 2nd to last inspection this week. After the insulation comes the blue board, plaster, walls and paint! Couldn’t be MORE excited to see the walls up as it will really start feeling like a home (and be a little warmer to walk thru). Here are some updates from this weekend- siding is nearly complete and now that it is almost done we couldn’t be happier with the color.

Update from our house- 10/20/2013

I am officially going to move away from the term “lot” now that we actually have a house structure for us to see!  Great progress this week at the house– the framing is pretty much complete around the first floor and the first floor stair case is in so I would expect the second floor is being started this week.

It was pretty cool walking around and actually seeing the layout we had looked at for so many weeks come to life.  Everything is looking just the way we wanted…as always, check out the From the ground up page for all of the picture updates- here are a few of my favorites from this weekend.

Update from the Lot- 10/6/2013

While there was a lot of work done this week, we are ready to see the framing!  It should start this week now that they have most of the dirt filled.  Check the From the ground update page for this weeks updates.

Update from the lot- 9/30/2013

The past few days have been a little busy so I am working on catching up on posts but things should be back to normal when I get back to Boston this week.

A little taste of what is to come this week…

– I just got back on Sunday from a girls weekend at Tuckers Point in Bermuda.  I got so many design ideas from this resort and can’t wait to share the pictures with you (and of course, had an amazing weekend with three of my best friends).

– Shopping!  Just to name a few…Target, World Market, Bellacor.

– Bathroom fixtures (lighting, mirrors, accessories)

– Fireplace & Great Room Shelves

Update from the lot- 9/23/2013

Time is flying by!  The foundation is complete and framing should start in the next two weeks.  Counting down the months till we move- check out the from the ground up page for more details and pictures

Building- Trees are down!

Exciting news this week – the trees are down!  Even though we weren’t able to see the progress ourselves our sister, Jaclyn, and good friend, Brian, went by the lot and sent us pictures.  It was great being able to see the pictures while we were away this week.
